Johan has been involved with a range of different industries and businesses, from companies in the listed environment (Sasol, Kelly Group and Alert Steel) to private equity owned companies(RTT Group and Duro Pressings/Alert Steel) , assisting them with restructurings and growth plans to ensure long-term sustainability. In 2008 Johan took 12 months “non corporate” sabbatical assisting a colleague in a manufacturing business; Steloy. Steloy specialised in manufacturing products to the petro chemical industry and supplied parts to companies like Aramco in Dubai, Sasol, Eskom and several major pump manufacturers in South Africa.

Johan has been part of senior executive teams in various industries, from education, logistics, manufacturing and retail, which gave him a broad spectrum of experience in several industry verticals. Working hand in hand with major banks and several private equity players also allows Johan to understand the requirements for major debt and balance sheet restructurings for companies in need.

This experience allows him an in depth understanding of restructuring agreements and the alternatives to get these restructurings successfully implemented.

Earlier in his career he was also involved with Naspers subsidiary (Logical Options/ Edufin / Damelin) and the Bophuthatswana Development Corporation, focusing on manufacturing businesses funded by the organisation.

Johan is a licensed Business Rescue Practitioner, a member of SAICA, SAIB, TMA-SA and SARIPA. He holds the CA (SA) qualification.
